What to Expect with Composite Fillings
You’ll be numbed, the decay removed, and a tooth-colored composite resin applied in layers and hardened with a special light. The tooth is then shaped and polished to feel natural. The appointment usually takes 20–60 minutes per tooth and is virtually painless.
Afterward
Mild sensitivity for a few days is normal
Avoid very hot/cold or hard foods for 24 hours
Numbness wears off in 1–3 hours
Composite fillings look natural, bond strongly, and last 7–10+ years with good care. It’s a quick, comfortable, and aesthetic way to fix cavities.
